2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember telephone number that connects callers, at no cost, to information about critical health and human services available in their community. It is also the number where you can report an underage drinking party that you become aware of.  It is annonymous and could save a life.

2-1-1 reaches approximately 75 percent of the total U.S. population in 43 states and the District of Columbia, however, millions of Americans still need to be connected. America needs 2-1-1 to be accessible nationwide.

The United Ways of New Hampshire, a group of 10 New Hampshire United Ways, have collaborated with five comprehensive information and referral agencies in New Hampshire to obtain ownership of the 2-1-1 number from the Public Utilities Commission. The initiative is also supported by United Way of America and the Association for Information and Referral Services.
